This paint on glass animation by Caroline Leaf captures the family's struggles dealing with ill elderly family member so touchingly. It also captures the sound and the environment living in New York City during the summer so well, that I was transported there when I first saw the film.
Again, it's Leaf's ability to tell the stories along with her perspective and transitions that floors me each time I watch one of her films and this one is one fine example. Caroline Leaf really is the animators' animator.
