A young Asian family moves into 8th street in Jersey City NJ. At first glance, the newcomer is not all keen on her new neighbors with some appearing nosy and one particular neighbor coming off as despicable. Yet through an unexpected turn of events, the newcomer realizes goodness in her neighbors and looks forward to the future on her new street embracing her neighbors.

7lbs and 8oz is a story about changing urban neighborhoods and the value of the community that exists in true diversity. It’s a story that teaches us how there is goodness in us all if we care to look and our own perception of one another that will determine our experiences with our own neighbors.
