This is the very first film I saw of Caroline Leaf' work. This Eskimo legend story she told with sand animation using indigenous people narrating the ill fated love story is stunning in its simplicity. What is remarkable with Caroline Leaf's work is the perspective and transitions she animates in her medium which has no back track. Those of us who has done paint and sand animation before know how difficult it is. Even in sand, she is able to have dynamic camera angles by means of different perspective she is able to animate. But at the end, it's Caroline Leaf's storytelling that really sets her work to another level that inspires many animators like myself.
