Jiri Trnka is considered to be one of the greatest stop motion animators in history. From Czechoslovak, he started his career as an illustrator for children's stories and became one of the greatest animators Europe had produced and is considered the father of stop motion. The very last project he worked on, The Hand, is considered to be his masterpiece and it was censored by the Czechoslovakian government upon its release and Trnka passed away soon after. It's truly amazing the sheer amount of emotions Trnka was able to express with set eyes and face in watching Hand. The artistry of his fabrication, animating skills and storytelling abilities will forever be a huge source of influence for stop motion animators.
