Huset på Kampen (House on the Hill), 1998

This is another animation by Pjotr Sapegin and happens to be one of my favorite stop motion animations. When I first saw this, I was horrified yet couldn't stop laughing out loud. It's so wildly far fetched yet simply stunning at the same time. The way Sapegin animates cat's quivering mouth is just brilliant. I also find it fascinating he animates by multiplane, laying his puppets down vs having them upright. Without giving away the film, I think the story of the rat vs. the man in the house is something that only Sapegin can imagine in his imaginative head.
