Circus Drawings, 2010

I didn't even know who Richard Willams was when I came to USC in 2019. My background was in fashion and although I can incite much of fashion history, facts, designers and illustrators alike from my studies, in animation, I was clueless. Lucky for me, I had some great teachers, and in 2D animation, there is no better teacher than Eric Goldberg. I was lucky enough to breath the same air and be among his pupils at USC. He introduced me to Richard Williams and showed us this film that Willams finished when he was 77 years old. Starting stop motion animation in my 40's, I am humbled by the great Williams and encouraged and inspired to pursue my passion in stop motion animation. What a great example this movie 'Circus Drawings', is for all the animators who try so hard to finish the animation projects!
