The Door, 1986

This stop motion from Russian animator, Nina Shorina, was shown to me in the animation class taught by Christine Panuska. Shorina tells a compelling story about the oppression in former Soviet Union using the door as metaphor. The dark comedy is well pared with Shorina's art direction and her fabrication skills making this film also one of my favorites.
